Old Project, But New Look!

I painted these some time ago, but I changed the basing to accommodate a new rules system. This basing has provided greater room to re-create larger battles. They were originally based four in a line. Now they are based 2 in the front and 2 in the back. This provides the stacking effect that I wanted to achieve for some time.

A New Project!

So here is my new project. One that will take some time to complete, but I am not in a hurry. I am somewhat returning to my roots a bit with diving back into 1:72 scale plastics, but these modern day fighters have me spell bound for sure. I have provided you with two pictures. One is unpainted and the other is my take on what I want them to look like. I took the evening and painted one just to see how it would look.

OK, so here are some more of my winter projects that are complete. The first photo is that of the British Legion (Cavalry). The next two photos are British Legion as well or they can be used as Queen's Rangers.

To answer a question

I received an email a while back that asked what reference material do I use for uniform colors. Here is the simple answer. I use this book a lot. In fact, I own two of them. One has all my notes in it, the other I keep as my back up. I have used some of the Osprey men-at-arms series, but I must say that I like this book the best.
Here is another group that I did over the winter. These represent the 42nd Royal Highland Regiment. Once again, these miniatures are 15mm Old Glory and they did take some time to paint. The uniform is multicolored and took some time to get it just right. Please keep in mind that I paint for the purpose of war gaming, not for museum quality or display.

I did these over the winter. I thought I would post these to show how my work on the AWI project is going. These are 15mm Old Glory miniatures. The flag is yet another one I found online and printed.

Ok, so here is a completed stand of American Militia (AWI) 15mm. The flag is hard to read, but it says: Piss on the British. I got the flag from a website where you can download your own flags and print them out. I really like the way these miniatures have turned out.

First Stage

So here is the first stage of the 15mm American Militia. I am having a wonderful time painting these. I have some that I have already completed and you will see those photos on this post as well. I posted this photo to give some of the new-comers the idea of how I go about painting such small items.

Status Report!

Ok, so I thought I would have some photos to post this time, but I don't at this point. I did spend the majority of my day working through my bottles of paint and preparing for the next intense painting operation. Here is what I have on the work bench:

1) Need to finish up my 15mm American Militia (AWI)
2) FOW (Flames of War) Project

Ahhhh, there is a end in sight. Well sorta. I do need to take this camera and document my work in stages. I think I will do that with the American Militia.

Where Have I been!

I am sorry for not updating and it has been forever since I posted. I was promoted at work and that has taken a lot of my free time. I did secure a new camera and will post some of my work in the next day or two.
